Dear Fellow Educators:
The Greek Teachers Association, << Prometheus >>, cordially invites you to attend the Nikos Kazantzakis Lecture to be held on Sunday, October 19 at 5:00 p.m. at the Minoan Palace at 22-27 33nd Street, Astoria, opposite of the St. Catherine's church. This lecture initiates the beginning of a number of other events planned to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of << Prometheas >>, 1975-2015.
Topic of the Lecture: << The Relevance of the works and thinking of Nikos Kazantzakis>>
Main speakers: Dr. Peter Bien, Professor of Greek and Comparative Literature at the University of New Hampshire and translator of many works of Kazantzakis, and Prof. Georgos Stasinakis, from Geneva Switzerland, president of the International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis.
There will be a session for questions and answers and reception after the lecture. Both speakers will speak in Greek. Admission is free.
This wonderful philological evening is organized in cooperation of the Federation of Greek Teachers Organizations, the Cretan Societies, the Cretan World Council and many more societies. PLEASE READ THE ANNOUNCEMENT IN THE ETHNIKOS KIRIKAS THIS WEEKEND.
